HOD Program Manager
Dr. Naia Wilson (she / her) serves as the HOD Program Manager at Justice 4 Housing.
Over the past 30 years Dr. Wilson has worked tenaciously in urban schools to dismantle the institutional barriers that promote the School to Prison Pipeline for students of color. Through teaching and leading schools, she provided a counter-narrative to dominant accounts depicting black and brown young people as underachievers. This journey led to the school receiving the 2017 Title One Distinguished School Award, the 2013 National Blue Ribbon School for Improvement, and the 2012 EdVestors’ $100k School on the Move Prize.
In this new phase of her career, Dr. Wilson maintains her passion for social justice and equity as she challenges the discriminatory policies and practices that formerly incarcerated people face in housing. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts Boston, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in School Leadership from Bridgewater State College, a Masters of Education in Secondary Mathematics from Eastern Nazarene College, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
