Devon McNeil

SHARP Cohort 2

Devon McNeil is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, and founder of three organizations, including Not On My Watch Mentoring, dedicated to supporting at-risk youth in Boston. During his 20 years of incarceration, Devon took accountability for his past and committed himself to real personal change. When he returned home, he faced significant barriers—but he kept moving forward.

With the stability of housing, Devon has been able to focus on giving back by mentoring inner-city youth and teaching practical trade skills, including car detailing, to help young people build confidence and self-sufficiency. He also shares his journey through his books, The Streets Lied and We Believed and Reflections of a Life Misled, written while incarcerated and later republished with support from Justice 4 Housing. Devon uses his writing to reach young people with a message of accountability, growth, and redemption.

He is now looking forward to joining a first-time homebuyers program and beginning his journey toward homeownership.
